Can one use Deno instead of Node

hi,

Can one use Deno, instead of Node just as one can use Python etc?
It seems quite interesting, and cleaner alternative to Node, by same founder, will give it a big boost!

Regards,

Hey @janubande you can use the shell install process in their docs to install Deno in a project - here’s what that l;ooks like for me:

app@sixth-okra:~ 19:03
$ curl -fsSL https://deno.land/x/install/install.sh | sh
######################################################################## 100.0%
Deno was installed successfully to /app/.deno/bin/deno
Manually add the directory to your $HOME/.bash_profile (or similar)
  export DENO_INSTALL="/app/.deno"
  export PATH="$DENO_INSTALL/bin:$PATH"
Run '/app/.deno/bin/deno --help' to get started

app@sixth-okra:~ 19:03
$ du -hd1
1.0K    ./.data
1.0K    ./public
1.0K    ./views
54K     ./.git
43M     ./.deno
43M     .

As you can see Deno takes up about 25% of the available disk space, so depending on what you’re building that might still leave you plenty of space.

I’m going to move this out of feature requests; unless Deno sees significant uptake I don’t think we’d install it in the Glitch project container by default.
