Error: Something took too long to do. [Discord]

#1

My discord bot project has been working for months and I have recently faced this error, the bot is down. Is the host my bot is in banned by Discord or is there something else?

Why does this happen?

I have this problem too. Apparently, it’s the bot not being able to connect to the websocket in-time, and this supposedly happens randomly on some hosting sites. The exact error is:

[2019-02-10 22:57:54]: ERROR Unhandled rejection: Error: Something took too long to do.
    at timeout.client.setTimeout (/app/node_modules/discord.js/src/client/ClientManager.js:40:57)
    at Timeout.setTimeout [as _onTimeout] (/app/node_modules/discord.js/src/client/Client.js:433:7)
    at ontimeout (timers.js:498:11)
    at tryOnTimeout (timers.js:323:5)
    at Timer.listOnTimeout (timers.js:290:5)

I don’t know how to fix it.

EDIT: Problem has been replied to in a different post: Discord.JS / Something took too long to do

Still not fixed though

Getting Same Error over here.
Maybe Discord banned some Glitch IP’s again?

filthy-casuals, I can pass you an Invite via Mail, if you give it to me again.

#8

I did send the project name, waiting for the answer. Thanks

#9

We can confirm the problem is caused by Discord banning some IPs. We’re in the process of moving impacted projects on to new IPs, so your project should begin to work again soon.

#10

it is working again, thanks for your service
