More network updates

Hey folks later today we’re starting another series of changes to Glitch’s network and request topology that we hope will provide additional protection to the platform. This is both a larger and a subtler change than many we’ve made and we’ll be taking it a bit at a time over the next few weeks as we restrict more and more objectionable or abusive traffic.

Even with all the care and attention we’ll provide it’s very likely that some non-abusive traffic will be caught up in the changes. If you believe legitimate projects are being disrupted please reach out to support@glitch.com and let us know (it will help to include the project name, specific requests or urls that were problematic, and the time of the requests).

Thanks and we apologize in advance for any bother!

already filed a ticket about this but i was wondering if this update is known to be impacting legacy custom domains (getting intermittent 499 errors) like glitch.new

Yep that’s a result of part of this change. I just rolled back that piece - you should see that go away.

Thanks for the updates, and awesome work on the infra/robustification!

I have an app at a custom domain (graph.beeminder.comroad.glitch.me) that’s been intermittently down for the last many(?) hours, which seems related.

Hey @dreev sorry for the continued issues - i’ve made some more adjustments; can you let me know if that helps and what sort of client connections you’re seeing errors on? If you see one again can you let me know the status code?

Cheers;
