Node Installation takes way too long

I just wanted to restart the discord bot i hosted and suddenly its stuck at installing node, it takes wayyy too long and even if i make a new project or change the version will it stay stuck at installing node.

Node is already available, it doesn’t need to be installed. You can specify which version you want to use in your package.json file - see https://glitch.com/faq#node

If you’re still having problems with your project, then let us know the project name and we can take a look. If your project is private, then either make it public or DM me a join link so that I can view it.

Everytime i restarted the bot it always reinstalled node 8.4.0, but when i now wanted to restart it then it stays stuck at installing node, in other projects too, but another 1 i made with a friends works, even tho its near the same.

I sadly cant DM you the invite link because i cant DM yet.

My email is gwilson@fogcreek.com

Send you an Email with the link.

Thanks, I’ve asked someone on the team to take a look at what the issue is.

Ok, im gonna do nothing for now then.

This is back up and running again. We’re looking into the underlying problem that lead to the issue still though.

Hello again,

Sadly im getting the next error which i didnt got before so i dont know what to do:

fs.js:675
return binding.read(fd, buffer, offset, length, position);
^

I think you are still in the project so i hope you can take a look.

What’s the name of your project?

It fixed itself for 1 day but now it occured again.

Try
npm i node-gyp
node-gyp rebuild
node rebuild
:+1:

or

rm -rf node_modules/* node_modules/.*; refresh
:+1:

We sorted things with the project creator earlier, but in case it’s useful for others. This problem seems to caused by discord.js. A workaround is running rm -rf node_modules/* node_modules/.*; refresh at the console.
