I was noticing that there has been in increase of spam on this forum, mainly advertisements. While sharing a project you created on Glitch is great, sharing big blocks of text about a business is not fully acceptable.
What to do
When posting your thing, just think about it and say “is the community going to flag this?” If you see unnecessary posts, do us all a favor and flag it!
Have a great day and thank you for keeping this forum a fun place for everyone!
I’m not certain that we’re seeing an increase in spam or similar bad-actor activity, but we may not be acting on it as quickly as we have in the past.
@tiago I think your suggestions are solid. At a minimum, we could investigate putting these in place for newly created accounts as a form of a “background trial” period.
the only issue I see is that on the main glitch that has a captcha when you log in and has a captcha for editing projects still has a lot of spam somehow.
probably they use something like 2c*ptcha tho so even with a captcha there’s issues.
this, for example. by my personal opinion, at least. completely unspecific post with no contribution of its own. strangely replying ostensibly to give thanks for a post that didn’t actually offer anything to the general public
Yeah that’s one. There were two posts from someone copy-pasting a looong list of information (ad) about two different businesses. No mention of a Glitch site or anything. I quickly flagged those and they got unlisted, but that is the kind that I am talking about.
