[Sneak peek!] Glitch development preview!

Hi! So I took a look today at the preview of my profile… and it looks pretty good.

One thing that I, and some other people would like is python support for the new version of glitch.

I noticed the gray behind the stats, and as I was messing I removed the background and instead, added a border:

border: black 3px solid

What do you think? Maybe 3px is a little strong, so maybe bring it down to 1.5-2px, but other than that I like the work.

Hi, I’m working on a book that shows how to build websites using Glitch. Is there an official launch date for this new interface?

Hi @omundy! The new Glitch should start rolling out later this spring - when’s the book coming out?

YES! I remember reading this article back in 2018 Fog Creek is now Glitch!. We’re saying goodbye to the Fog Creek… | by Anil Dash | Glitch: Make Better Software | Medium as I started testing out Glitch - excited to see 6 years later all the progress - please implement Node version 18+ please make it priority !

@jenn That’s great to hear! The final draft is due in September, which means we will be able to incorporate any updated interface screenshots or instructions.

I’m sorry for bumping this…

  • The search input on the dashboard (dark mode) should be dark:

  • The teams section on the account menu uses white text in dark mode

  • (minor) The little diamond next to the profile pic for boosted accounts is missing

  • The user popup username (and the first section on hover) are broken on dark mode

Hi @jenn We are about to send our first draft in for review. We use Glitch almost exclusively in the last two chapters. What’s the best way to contact you or someone who can answer some questions about Glitch and the new interface?

Hi there - you can email me at jschiffer@fastly.com!

Looking forward to see the new Glitch! Are there any ideas on when the better Glitch will be fully released?

this preview is the community website. there’s a separate set of work they’re doing to update the project containers. another thread on something from that subject:

really like the last one or second to last with black text. I agree, the grey makes the photo a bit washed out and dull.

I really like the update. It’s not only stylish, it’s a bit more developer-friendly.

However, some images that originate from cdn.glitch.global still are broken. If you could fix this, that would be great.

Out of 10 stars, I would rate 8.
If images get fixed, will bring to 9.
If usability on mobile gets fixed where copy-paste works better, will bring to 10.

Thanks for the feedback! We’ve updated the look of these profile headers a bit, let us know what you think :sunglasses:

I’ll have a look at those image links soon! Thanks for letting us know.

Could you explain more about the copy/paste issue on mobile?

 Thanks for the feedback!

what about the new containers allegedly coming out as part of the new glitch?
