The current scheme of Glitch is that users can create new projects by remixing a list of templates made by Glitch or other community members. I think that’s a great idea, but some of these templates are already a project on its own, and I will have to make lots of changes to it before starting my own development. For example, when I create a website from glitch-hello-website, the first thing I do is to delete all the contents in the CSS and JS files as well as the comments and stuff in index.html.
I do see a glitch-blank-website that is much cleaner, but that is not as easily accessible as glitch-hello-website. So the thing is, can the blank template projects also be added into the New Project list?
Yes. I love this. Thought about it just yesterday. The hello templates are good for beginners, seeing how it works, and easy to customize, but I never use them. I always take the extra time to get a blank out.
this is not the new project dropdown, but did you know about the https://glitch.new shortcuts? if you go to Glitch :・゚✧ it takes you to a fresh remix of a blank template. and you can make your own shortcuts as well (scroll to the bottom of glitch.new to see how).
I really didn’t know, but it looked like something great and I’m able to do less work to clear the files. Maybe you can promote it more so that more people know about it. Thanks!
