Github import breaks project when a slash is missing

For one of my projects I was trying to import from Github. Instead of typing “beeminder/userminder”, I accidentally typed, “beeminder/userminder/”. It would bring up a message that the import failed and then my project would be broken. It seems like it would be nice to be able to avoid
