nice to have simple project-wide chat built into Glitch, mainly for sharing links during the lesson (“ok kids now please open this”), because otherwise I have to ask people to re-type the link from their phones.
Is it too much of a coincidence that something like this was made just a few days ago?

Hello world! [🌍]
I have built (with @code-alt , @martin , @wh0 , and other persons) a full chat platform for Glitch. It has many many features, check everything at our docs
[How to use this?]
It’s very simple. First, go to the opengc.glitch.me .
Then, drag the big yellow button into your bookmarks bar.
To open the chat, on the Glitch editor, click the link you have dragged into your bookmarks bar.
Not understanding? Check our video:

Unofficial, of course

There’s nothing special about this project. Rather, it’s a script that you can run in the dev console.
People asked about having chat in the editor. It seems like Glitch already has some of the facilities needed to support it. And here’s the bare minimum–no, far less than the bare minimum–built upon that.
What’s the backend
In Glitch’s collaboration system, there’s a service called “OT” that collects changes from all the users current…
While the implementation seems to be limited by CSP, Glitch could take a leaf outta @wh0 ’s and @_tr ’s book and officially implement it into the editor.
However, this is also a serious issue so enabling/disabling chat should be a feature controlled only by the project owner?!
