Glitch does not clone GitHub repositories

When I want to clone a GitHub repository, Glitch does nothing, just interprets as if I had created a new project without adding anything

Hello, @Noctaletz and welcome to the Glitch Forum!

I’ve just moved your topic to the #glitch-help category as it should get noticed there quicker.

Could you also share the repository you’re trying to clone?

Hi @Noctaletz,

I am sorry that you ran into this bug! Currently, the “Clone from Git Repo” option in the New Project menu is not working properly. Our team is aware and will be rolling out a fix after the New Years holiday.

In the meantime, you can use this workaround:

  1. Click New Project and then select any other option that best matches the type of project you are importing/creating.
  2. Once you have created the project, go into the Editor and click on the Tools menu on the bottom, left side of the page.
  3. Select “Git, Import and Export” option.
  4. Select “Import from GitHub”

Thanks for your patience, and let us know if you need additional help!

Hi @Noctaletz,

This bug has been fixed. You should now be able to use the ‘Clone from Git Repo’ option in the ‘New Project’ drop-down menu.

If it still does not work for you, please let us know!
