I’ve been using Glitch for the past five years to teach web programming to students. It was a fantastic free, online tool where students could immediately see the result of their work and even share it with friends and family. Thank you for that.
Sadly, it is gone, now.
My biggest complain? The login process. It never worked in a consistent fashion. Students had to repeat typing in their passwords because they were getting error even though there were no typos in their email address or password. No better luck with the magic link email, either. Most of the time no email was sent. Nevertheless, we all managed to log in …somehow.
So, if you guys ever decide to relaunch such a service in the future please make sure logging in is as robust and consistent as possible!
As far as those other alternatives are concerned, well, they all sound Greek to me -and I do speak Greek, mind you!
