Freenom help! (OFF TOPIC)

At one point black.com was about 500K.

Yes, again that would be a premium domain

It was not. …

also black.com was registered in the 90s

riversiderocks.com is going for ~2300 dollars.

We can all agree that GoDaddy sucks.

I use a UK based domain registrar where I can get a UK domain for £5 ($6.56 USD) and thanks to GDPR (applicable for domains ending .uk including .co.uk, .org.uk, etc.), I don’t need to pay extra for WhoIS protection. I get 3 free emails, unlimited forwarding emails and other free goodies, all just for a fiver. Totally worth it. Most sites like GoDaddy have deals but they only apply for the first year, so you pay .99p for the first year and then pay something like £15 quid after that :joy:

They also have .com domains for £10

Google Domains is charging me $20 to switch.
Porkbun is charging me $13 to switch.
Which one should I pick?

What TLD?

.me
(10char)

My registrar charges £13.99 ($18.39 USD) for .me domains so the cheaper one I guess

freenom is actually a scam, if i recall correctly.

They just take away your domain, without you knowing.
If you try to contact them, they freeze your account

Based on the reviews: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/freenom.com

I recommend you try dot.tk
It’s better.

Didn’t freenom buy that? :joy:

Agreed, freenom is quite shady.

yes, but they don’t take care as much of that. so it’s more secure.

Note: Dot.tk takes away your domain if it becomes popular!

Well, no. They’re the same thing. When you try to checkout on dot.tk it redirects you to Freenom.

They give you a domain for a year. You gotta remember that. It is on you if you don’t.

Not true. And it is 500 dollars for a tk domain on there.

Nope. It’s $500 because you chose a 3 letter domain.
